C2R can be an excellent facilitator for leading RCA exercises for problematic, chaotic and unreliable systems and processes based on an excellent balance of high-level Architecture understanding, inherent skills to ask the right questions, and excellent analytical ability. Typically, this type of activity requires involvement from a large cross-section of an organization: Application Developers, Application Support, Tiers 1-3 Incident Managers, Service Providers and Customers/Partners. In addition to trying to decide who owns the resolution process amongst this group, often it takes an independent, non-attached leader to take the emotion out of the mediation process of a Root Cause Analysis “Tiger Team”.Let the experienced professionals at C2R facilitate your comprehensive effort to stabilize your system/process, identify the root cause issues and corrective action, and recommend infrastructure and process improvements to limit exposure to future incidents. C2R follows a process that includes:
- Understanding architecture, processes, monitoring and metrics currently in place.
- Recommending additional monitoring, metrics and reports to assist diagnosis.
- Holding daily (or as needed) ICU meetings to discuss prior days' results, actions, and recommended next steps.
- Providing daily (or as needed) Executive-level updates.
- Repeat until issue is stabilized.
- Provide Postmortem review and recommended improvements in applications, processes and metrics.
